6 months old!!!

My big girl is 6 months old already!! I cannot believe it. She was such a good girl at her well check up last week. Alyssa is now 14 lbs 6 oz (19%) and she is 26 1/2 inches long (75%). The doctor said she will be happy when her percentages match a little better... but heck, she is finally growing, so mommy is very happy!!

We have been working on getting her strong enough to sit by herself. The boppy has helped out a lot in that area (they are wonderful!) Her doctor said that she is behind in her motor skills and that if we don't see an improvement in the next few weeks then she will have to go to a physical therapist.

Here is Alyssa and her gramma... they have been having a lot of good cuddle time lately. Chris and I started back with our small group and mom and dad have been awesome watching her on Sundays so that daddy and I can have special time.

And wouldn't you know, 2 days after the doctor Alyssa decided that she would go ahead and sit by herself!! She is such a riot... she will not roll over (she just has no desire) but she can sit for several minutes at a time with a toy in her hand... what a nut!!

And finally a parting shot of my girls booty... brought to you by her nana. Nana bought her this outfit and another one that says pretty on her bottom for Christmas. Chris swore that no daughter of his would ever have words on her tushy but it is just so darn cute on a baby!!

How could life be any better???

It amazes me daily just how much I love this little girl. She is just so darn cute that I want to squeeze her all the time.

Last week we had a great visit with Nana and Granddaddy. They came down from Raleigh and Alyssa had so much fun playing with them.

It is so cool to watch Alyssa grow and learn new things everyday. This week she found her ears and her toes and I swear she has her hands on her feet all of the time now (I wish that I had half of her flexibility!!!) Anytime she is on her back she has no interest in rolling over but she loves her feet!! Oh well... at least she is cute!

5 month picture

Time is going by so very fast... I cannot believe that Alyssa is 5 months already!!! She is growing so quickly now. When I weighed her yesterday she was 13 lbs, so I am very happy with her size now. The holidays were so much fun with her... even though she had no idea what was going on. We really did not take many (or any) pictures of Alyssa... I guess I should have though!!

January has been very eventful for miss priss pot. She rolled over for the first time from belly to back (with help from daddy) on the 9th and on the 15th rolled from her back to her belly.

We also started solid foods last week... some very yummy rice cereal... she ate it up like a champ!!!

Baby girls 1st roadtrip!!

What a whirlwind weekend!!! On Friday evening, mommy, gramma and baby girl got into the car and drove to Florida to see daddy at work. Alyssa was an angel and only cried one time in the 8 hour trip. We stopped at Arby's and played head, shoulders, knees and toes!!

We got in to Florida at 2 am and went straight to sleep. The next morning we woke up and went to see Uncle Justin and Aunt Liz in Orlando. They have a very nice apartment that we were able to visit in and then the ladies went shopping!!

The next day after breakfast we took the baby to the beach for the first time. The water was freezing but beautiful. The baby was not a fan!!!

Alyssa does not yet have her mothers love of the beach. After feeding her (on the beach) we headed back home to Georgia. Baby girl was such and angel and we are so lucky to have her in our lives.
